Nanga Damai is currently run by Emily and Willis so that they can enjoy sharing the home and its beautiful surroundings with guests from all over the world.

It is preferable that Guests have their own transport, either a car or motorbike/ scooter that can be easily hired in Kuching, online or at the airport.

Nanga Damai is for Adults Only. We can only offer guests to stay who are over 18 years old. We love kids but cannot accommodate them.

How to reach us

Nanga Damai is located 33KM from Kuching on the Santubong Peninsular

We are happy to pick guests up from the airport/ Kuching/ Bako jetty point/ main bus station if this is booked with us in advance.

Airport transfer is RM120 and Kuching city transfer is RM100.

Transport

TAXI
You can easily take a taxi from the airport/Kuching to Nanga Damai.

Address to use for taxi (most taxis know where our house is):
Nanga Damai – located 100 meters from Damai Golf Course on the road to Damai Beach.

The house will be on the right hand side of the road. Once you are close to the Damai area, you will see two tall apartment buildings on the left , our house is almost directly opposite these apartments but on the other side of the road.

Mount Santubong National Park

1km from Nanga Damai Take yourself on a walk through the jungle on one of the many marked trails at this national park. It offers easy 1hour walks, one which leads to a waterfall or a more arduous climb to the top of the mountain!

Sarawak Cultural Village

1.8km from Nanaga Damai This ‘living museum’ is the perfect way to immerse yourself with the different tribes and cultures of Borneo. Spend the morning or afternoon walking around the seven different tribal houses.

Nearby Beaches

2km from Nanga Damai there are three different beaches that are within reach of Nanga Damai. One is opposite the Cultural Village, the other is by the golf course and the last one is at Camp Permai. The beach at Camp Permai offers kayaks which can be rented by the hour and has a nice jungle cafe.

Damai Central

Damai Central is located 2KM from our home and is located just opposite the Cultural Village. It has a food court serving typical Malaysian stall food such as; noodles, roti canal, curries and rice dishes. There are also some small shops, a bar, and access to Damai beach.

Buntal Village

The village of Buntal is aprox 10km from Nanga Damai by car and offers a selection of seafood restaurants. If you would like to eat here and do not have your own transport, we are happy to give you a lift.

Wetlands Cruise

We are happy to book you on this magnificent sunset cruise. Cruise along the river and see traditional village houses and wildlife. Most days it is possible to see irrawaddy dolphin’s, proboscis monkey, fire flies and perhaps a crocodile!

Damai Golf Course

1,5km from Nanga Damai Pay and play on this magnificent 18 hole golf course. If you don’t have your own equipment it is possible to hire it from the club.
